Role-playing games
I have been in love with role-playing games ever since I received a boxed edition of Basic Dungeons and Dragons when I was around ten. My mind swarmed with the open possibilities of infinite stories. From that moment I was hooked and I never looked back. Eventually, I progressed to Advanced Dungeons and Dragons and then other games such a Rifts, Shadowrun, and Vampire: the Masquerade.
Once I adjusted to the fact that my love of words and role-playing games weren’t going to go away, it seemed like a natural fit to put them together. I’ve written in a number of different game universes and eventually joined the International Association of Media Tie-In Writers.
I’ve included a number of essays and materials that I’ve written for various games I’ve been involved with below.
Media Fiction
- Geometry of the Soul; Arkham Tales: Stories of the Legend Haunted City (Call of Cthulhu Fiction) (Chaosium Books, November 2006)
- The Dead Man’s Hand; Frontier Cthulhu: Ancient Horrors in the New World (Call of Cthulhu Fiction) (Chaosium Books, November 2007)
- Puyallup; Shadowrun Seattle 2172 Sourcebook (Catalyst Game Labs, October 2009)
Roleplaying Games
Pickering Lythe: A Downton Abby LARP
My latest obsession has been putting together a Downton Abby LARP for my friend Jason Carl. Check out the website to track our progress.
The Omega Watch: A Dreamlands Chronicle RPG. Using the Buffy: The Vampire Slayer RPG rules, I’ve created a table top game based on the Omega Watch from my Dreamlands series. We pretend to be writers on a Showtime television show based off the Dreamlands chronicles and borrowing the conceit of the Magnifient Seven.
Vampire: The Requiem
I have been a member of the Mind’s Eye Society (formerly known as the Camarilla) since 1997. I’ve written a number of essays and guides for some of their Vampire venues. By request, I am including them here.
